Start-to-finish approach

VDM is much more than the development of a maintenance strategy. VDM is a start to finish approach that transforms the maintenance and asset management organization from a cost post to a department that creates real economic added value.

The start-to-finish approach has three phases:

The vision phase: In this phase our business consultants evaluate the current situation of the maintenance and asset management organization and develop a strategy for the future. Normally this phase ends with an improvement agenda, an implementation plan and a business case (Nett Present Value calculation).

The creation phase: At this stage our business consultants and EAM project managers build the improvement agenda, including the development of work processes, implementation and optimization of EAM systems and alignment of organizations.

The operational phase: In this last phase the maintenance performance will be monitored and adjusted and the preventive maintenance concept will be optimized.  This can be done by our interim managers. Preventive management can be organized by our Reliability Engineering consultants.
