VDM Process Maps

VDM foresees in best practices gathered through leading maintenance organizations. These best practices can be used excellently for the development of the blueprint of the maintenance function. It accelerates the development process and opens doors to improvement. However this should be done carefully. Best practices cannot always be implemented one on one in a company; they should be translated to the local situation first. One must also be open for internal best practices: successful working-methods, which are already introduced in the company. This avoids unnecessary changes and increases the level of acceptance.

The designed strategy is captured in the day to day business via the development of work processes. VDM provides a set of about 50 reference processes to accelerate the Most Valuable Maintenance Organization development. These reference processes are based on the maintenance best practices mentioned earlier and are fully mapped with leading EAM systems.
