Today many companies move to ‘Lean Manufacturing’ to compete in the global economy and to increase profits. But what is ‘getting lean’ exactly and how does is affect Maintenance, how can Maintenance contribute to it and how to derive the maintenance strategy from it?

Many maintenance managers are struggling with those questions in daily practice.  Is ‘Lean’ just a set of well known best practices that are now suddenly tagged and hyped as being ‘lean’ or are there actually maintenance management methodologies available that really link up with lean thinking? Well, that methodology is available today, it’s Value Driven Maintenance®.    On November 4, 2008, Conference Communication, in conjunction with Mainnovation will be organizing the Getting Lean via Value Driven Maintenance® (VDM) conference in the UK.
