Allseas is one of the major offshore pipelay and subsea construction companies in the world. Today main focus is on Asset Utilization, combined with Resource Allocation (MRO logistics). The old software system of Allseas did not provide the management with the correct (steering) information nor did it support all (sub)processes sufficiently (e.g. no transparency of Logistics Chain).
Allseas reengineered their business processes according to the VDM methodology and implemented an EAM system (Oracle EAM). The scope of the implementation was Maintenance, Procurement, Inventory and Logistics at the head office, the vessels central warehouses and yards. Data exchange takes place via SatComm .
The EAM system was specifically challenged due to:
