’What is actually the added value of maintenance?’ is a frequently heard question in boardrooms the world over. Even though maintenance is often critically important, few maintenance managers are able to answer the question convincingly, especially when they are asked to express the benefits in terms of economic value added or shareholder value - the language increasingly being spoken at boardroom level.
VDM builds a bridge between traditional maintenance philosophies and managing by economic added value. Not only does VDM simplify the boardroom discussion, it also shows that far from being a cost center, maintenance can create significant economic value, improving the overall business performance.

The Master Class Conference
In the introduction to the day, current trends in the maintenance market place will be presented and the role of VDM explained. You will learn how to create economic added value and shareholder value with maintenance; learn more about the Value Driver Model, the competence model and the VDM Control Panel; and learn how to apply the VDM methodology in your own organisation. Presentations will scope all the elements of the VDM philosophy and best practice case histories from various industries will be used to demonstrate the application of VDM.

Complimentary Follow-up Benchmarking
VDM Master Class conference attendees are offered the unique opportunity to calculate the value potential of their maintenance organisation with the myVDM.com benchmarking tool. Your own maintenance data and key performance indicators (KPI’s) will be compared with best in class companies.

Many organisations with multiple manufacturing operating plants are striving for Manufacturing & Maintenance Excellence. Although the potential of the combined benefits usually tends to be significant, it is not easy to get a multi site maintenance & reliability excellence program up and running effectively. The participating sites will be on different levels of proficiency, have different ways of working, cultures, tools, business priorities and CMMS systems in place. And you need to deal with the battle of the ideologies: should the excellence standard be based on TPM, RCM, Lean, PdM, RCA or use an 'all-inclusive' framework? This webinar will reveal practical guidance on how to achieve a common maintenance language & culture, a structured approach for assessing plants yearly, rating excellence by tangible KPI Metrics and CMMS based Dashboards, applying internal & external benchmarking and knowledge sharing on best practices. Mainnovation has facilitated several multi site maintenance excellence programs all over the globe and will share lessons learned from case studies of GlaxoSmithKline, Volvo Cars, DSM and AkzoNobel.

Maintenance Managers across industries are being forced to improve their performance. Fortunately many maintenance organizations contain a hidden value potential. Should you focus on uptime or on cost reduction?
What are your top 10 performance killers, and which equipment causes the biggest budget overrun? What is the root cause for these problems?
These are questions that can only be answered with the right maintenance management information. Although the data is often captured in SAP EAM, it is hardly transformed into meaningful reports that improve your decision making. The VDM Control Panel is a new and innovative Maintenance KPI Dashboard that is built in SAP BusinessObjects technology and is fully integrated with SAP EAM. It uses more than 100 Key Performance Indicators, graphs and drill-down analyses and is based on the successful Value Driven Maintenance® methodology from Mainnovation.
In this webinar you will learn how KPI's can be used to set targets and to monitor and leverage continuous improvement through a state of the art KPI dashboard.

June 5 – 7, 2013, Minneapolis

The International Applied Reliability Symposium (ARS) is an international reliability conference that provides a forum for expert presenters from industry and government to come together with reliability engineering practitioners from all over the world to discuss the application of reliability engineering principles to meet real world challenges. The international reliability and maintainability symposium is held five times a year in locations throughout the world. The 2013 ARS North America was held June 5 - 7, 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

The 2013 conference North America was organized by ReliaSoft Corporation and the System Reliability Center (SRC) with technical sponsorship from the ASQ Reliability Division and the Accelerated Stress Testing and Reliability Workshop.

On Wednesday June 5 John Holmes from Mainnovation and Jeremy Miller from a leading natural gas supplier gave a presentation titled ‘A One-Off Design with a World Class Maintenance Strategy’.

A leading energy producer and supplier of natural gas needed to build a maintenance program for a liquid natural gas fueling station that was first of its kind and required the highest levels of safety and performance. This project worked as a template for many similar stations allowing for a quick and broad deployment of the new maintenance strategy. The Reliability Engineering Roadmap provides a simple and easy to follow format to execute a reliability improvement to formulate reliable maintenance plans, improve existing plans where necessary, and give input to the equipment standardization policy and life cycle decisions. The process follows well known best practices such as reliability centered maintenance analysis (RCMA), preventative maintenance optimization (PMO), and root cause analysis (RCA) to develop the data that then formulate and/or optimize the maintenance plans. A good Reliability Roadmap is a comprehensive approach that contains all of the elements for success whether the team plans to analyze one performance killer or a group of critical equipment or systems.
